Now, don’t get me wrong, the Gravatar service is awesome, you can upload your profile, including your image and have that pull through as your image on WordPress as an author or commentator and it works really well.
BUT! Most of the clients that I make WordPress sites for don’t have a Gravatar account, don’t want a Gravatar account and trying to explain they need a Gravatar account if their image is to appear on the Author section of their blogs well…. its a tough convo!
Also, on some sites you may just totally need unique author images no?
So here’s what I do most of the time to save confusion to allow the the authors to simply upload a profile image of their choice for their website using the very lovely “WP User Avatar | User Profile Picture”.
And in this WordPress tutorial I show just how easy it is to use!
The Plugin is Free and on the repo here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-user-avatar/
