BATON ROUGE —- One woman has died and another woman was injured during a double shooting Sunday night.
The shooting was just before 10pm on Geronimo St., that’s off of Plank Rd, on April 23.
Baton Rouge Police say there was a family get together when an argument broke out.
Kevineisha McDowell, 18, tried to break up the argument when a family member pulled out a rifle and started shooting, according to BRPD.
McDowell was trying to break up the fight, was shot in the head and died on the scene.
Her 27-yr-old sister took multiple bullets and was rushed to a hospital. Her current condition is unknown at this time.
The alleged shooter to the double shooting is said to have fled the scene before officers arrived.
