GTranslate is a free WordPress translation plugin that easily translates your WordPress Website into hundreds of languages free. This plugin relies on Google Translate which as we all know is not necessarily the most accurate means of translation. The free version of this plugin also does not provide any real SEO benefit as it lacks hreflang tags and doesn’t declare a unique URL. Both of these features are present in the premium version which I hope to review in the future!

If you're just wanting a simple option to allow translations via Google Translate the free version of this plugin works well. However, the premium version is where all the SEO value lives for this plugin as it uses hreflang tags, creates additional URLs, and allows manual correction of the less than stellar Google Translate Translations.
Could you tell me why when i pick 5 languages, on flag in my origin language does not work. it works for 3 days then it stops. i cant translate from ( for example) german into polish ( my origin language) the polish flag does not work.
Why, and How i can fix this ?

so struggling to use this plugin as the only display option that fits the site design is the pop up beta one but it doesnt pop out….
and if you put it in menu bar it auto translates too, it doesnt care if you want to translate at all lolll isnt the default language should be the original?
and all of a sudden it gave me a Sub-directory that I didnt ask for( I am even using the free version ) it breaks all of my product links……sigh

A great tutorial and this is a great plugin – however I have a wordpress website in English and the translation is into Portuguese and everything works fine. However there is some text on each page which is written in Portuguese which obviously it won't translate into English. Is there some css code I can use to correct this? Your help would be appreciated.

Hi Scott, great video, I wonder if you can help me to clarify the following doubt related to the "hreflang" tags:
I have two separate domains, with completely different names that I will use to build two brand new websites. The domain for Spanish speakers all over the world is "ahorratiempo.org" and the domain for English speakers all over the world is "savestime.org" , each website will be installed in their own separate hosting account — The content will be translated manually by me ( 1 to 1 translation, same structure, same content ) from spanish to english. I will Not use any multilingual plugin because each website will have only one language.
Now my question:
In this specific case, do I need to implement "hreflang" to avoid "Duplicate content" issues and this in turn damages my SEO, or is it Not necessary since each website will be totally separated in separate installations and with its different domain name ? ?
