It’s been a violent 12 hours in Baton Rouge between Saturday, Aug. 27th into Sunday, Aug. 28th.
In total, there were four separate shootings, three of them domestic and two people died from their injuries. Plus, there was a stabbing with a man stabbed multiple times.
The most recent shooting was around 5:30am on Aug. 28th at a motel on Airline Hwy. where a woman found her boyfriend with another woman at a motel. The girlfriend allegedly shot multiple rounds at the boyfriend’s vehicle as he tried to leave out. His car was reportedly riddled with bullet holes. He did show up to a Baton Rouge hospital later for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm. It’s unknown at this time if the girlfriend was arrested or not.
Prior to that, shortly after 3am, officers responded to the City Town Meat Market on Scotland Ave. where a man was found outside the store stabbed multiple times to the chest. The stabbing itself happened about a block away in the 1400 block of Cardinal St. The victim ended up outside the store after he was stabbed. His current condition is unknown at this time.
There was another domestic shooting on Glen Oaks Dr. around 1:30am. In this incident, a man shot & killed a woman. It happened in the 4700 block of Glen Oaks. Officers found a 59-yr-old Rosalind Scott woman who died on the scene from her injuries.
Just before 10pm, officers were called out to the 4100 block of W. Brookstown Dr. for a shooting. The victim was shot over a dozen times. When officials arrived at the scene, they found TC Snell Jr., 26, who died from his injuries.
About half an hour earlier was the third domestic shooting. A man and women had been arguing when up to six shots were fired. The shooting happened on Southpointe Dr. off of Staring Ln., but the man ended up on Ryder Dr. after he was shot in the leg.
In total, there were three domestic shootings overnight, four total shootings and two people were killed all within the city limits of Baton Rouge.
According to the most updated statistics from the EBR Coroner’s Office, as of Aug. 22nd, there have been 91 homicides in all of East Baton Rouge Parish.
